VP of Product Management, John McCarthy, shares Accelrys' architectural and technology vision with the 100-plus attendees at the 2010 Accelrys European User Group Meeting in Sitges, Spain.
Over 100 attendees heard first-hand the strategic direction and product plans for the fully integrated Accelrys at the annual European User Group Meeting from October 26–28 in Sitges, Spain. The meeting was the first time that Accelrys executives shared publicly the vision and product roadmap for the combined company.
The plenary session featured high level talks by Accelrys' President and CEO Max Carnecchia, CSO Frank Brown, and CTO Matt Hahn, along with keynote addresses by Joseph Cesarone of Abbott, as well as René de Ruiter of Shell. Joseph Cesarone's talk "Experiences in Collaborative Development and Deployment of a Registration System for Biologic" was based on Abbott's key partnership with Accelrys in a special interest group (SIG) that assisted in the design and development of the Accelrys Biological Registration system. They were the first partner to deploy the system in September 2009. René de Ruiter of Shell spoke along with Julian Willmott of Accelrys regarding the challenges presented when implementing laboratory informatics solutions. The talk was based on a recent project between Shell and Accelrys where Pipeline Pilot was used to build a knowledge-management system for their catalyst research and development business.
The diversity and reach of the combined company were evident in the talks given by 37 customers, which were featured in three concurrent sessions throughout the meeting.
A Partner Showcase and Product Gallery also ran each day of the meeting. Partners and meeting sponsors such IBM, Intel, Microsoft, and HP provided “microtalks” during meeting breaks. Attendees also had the chance to view demonstrations and chat with Accelrys technical staff. Some of the most popular demos showcased Pipeline Pilot, Discovery Studio, Materials Studio, Accelrys Isentris, Accelrys Informatics Solutions, and Symyx Notebook by Accelrys.
Accelrys customers who were unable to attend the event can request a user name and password to access presentations and photos from the event by emailing Accelrys Support (support@accelrys.com).
Linguamatics I2E Pipeline Pilot Components help you to effectively integrate the powerful text mining capabilities of I2E into your scientific workflow.
Linguamatics Text Analytics and Mining Components
for Pipeline Pilot
Our recently announced partner, Linguamatics, has released components for its I2E interactive information-extraction software for Accelrys' Pipeline Pilot. With these components, researchers can effectively integrate I2E text analytics and mining capabilities into their Pipeline Pilot scientific workflows.
I2E Pipeline Pilot Components enable you to include agile NLP-based querying in a scientific workflow developed using Accelrys Pipeline Pilot. Using I2E Pipeline Pilot Components within your workflow makes text mining available to a wider range of researchers, enabling them to easily perform complex text mining operations on large numbers of documents, extracting crucial knowledge to support business decisions.
