Work more efficiently and productively by transforming your lab from a collection of point solutions to an integrated information environment with the Enterprise Lab Management (ELM) suite from Accelrys. A key pillar of the Accelrys Enterprise R&D Architecture, the ELM suite was launched at last month’s North American User Group Meeting in Jersey City, along with a key offering within the suite—the new Experiment Knowledge Base (EKB) packaged services solution.
ELM – Enhancing cross-lab collaboration and productivity
By enabling communication and collaboration across laboratories and scientific domains, Accelrys’ ELM suite forms the heart of laboratory operations— improving processes and managing information associated with planning, executing, analyzing, mining and reporting laboratory workflows, experiments and experimental data in enterprise environments.
EKB – Empowering sustainable materials science
Experiment Knowledge Base speeds innovation by helping materials scientists plan, execute, analyze, report, mine and manage experiments using a single system that is complementary to existing laboratory instrumentation and data management methods.

Accelrys Acquires Contur AB
In May Accelrys announced its acquisition of Contur Software, a privately held software company headquartered in Sweden and an emerging leader in the “paper-on-glass” segment of the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) market.
The Contur ELN offers two deployment options — on-premise and software-as-a-service (SaaS). These flexible deployment options provide cost-effective solutions for organizations that want searchable and centralized information, require minimal customizations, and are focused on data capture and protection. For organizations requiring a multidisciplinary ELN, significant integration with other enterprise systems or deployment in validated environments, Accelrys continues to offer its flagship ELN, Symyx Notebook by Accelrys.
North American UGM Highlights Scientific Innovation
At last month's user group meeting in Jersey City, over 200 attendees including C&EN heard first-hand how Accelrys software solutions are speeding time to scientific innovation.
In addition to talks by Accelrys executives, the plenary session included timely keynote addresses by Robert Lochhead of the University of Southern Mississippi (“Accelerating Innovation to Address Crises and Catastrophes”), Stan Piper of Pfizer (“The Role of the ELN in Data Mining”), and Michael Hehenberger of IBM (“The Role of Deep Analytics, Modeling & Simulation and Nanotechnology in the Life Sciences”).
The diversity and reach of Accelrys’ comprehensive solution portfolio were evident in the talks given by over 30 customers throughout the meeting. Attendees have been sent an email with instructions for accessing the UGM presentations. Accelrys customers who were unable to attend the event can request access to presentations by emailing Accelrys Support (support@accelrys.com).
Accelrys Training Survey
We invite you to participate in our Accelrys Training Services Survey. This survey is open to all Accelrys customers regardless of the products you own, or whether or not you have participated in Accelrys trainings in the past. We will use your feedback to help us align the content, delivery and structure of our training offerings with your needs. The survey should take no longer than 15 minutes and to thank you for your time, we will enter you into a drawing for
