An Industry Challenge to Close the Innovation Productivity Gap
Accelrys President and CEO Max Carnecchia talks about moving beyond the status quo in scientific innovation.

Accelrys President and CEO Max Carnecchia talks about moving beyond the status quo in scientific innovation.

With only a quarter of R&D projects reaching the market today (according to IDC Manufacturing Insights), Accelrys has issued an industry-wide call to close the productivity gap from innovation through commercialization. This gap is slowing product development and time-to-market and hampering competitiveness for science-driven organizations. Improved Scientific Innovation Lifecycle Management (SILM) can facilitate data and technology transfer from product ideation through research, development and validation to the interface with Product Lifecycle Management and similar systems in early manufacturing.

The new Accelrys Enterprise Platform is an important first step in achieving this goal. The Accelrys Enterprise Platform is the first scientifically aware, service-oriented architecture that enables the integration and deployment of broad scientific solutions across multiple domains from innovation through commercialization.
