Visit us at the ACS Fall 2011 Conference & Exhibition in Denver, CO

August 29-31, 2011
Booth #502
Colorado Convention Center

Join us at the annual ACS Fall 2011 Conference & Exhibition in Denver, CO August 29-31, 2011. Stop by booth #502 to meet with our product experts who will be showcasing the latest developments of:

Pipeline Pilotâ„¢: Accelrys' scientific informatics platform that aggregates and provides immediate access to volumes of disparate research data often locked in silos, automates the scientific analysis of that data and enables researchers to rapidly explore, visualize and report research results.

Materials Studio: A comprehensive materials modeling and simulation application designed for scientists in chemicals and materials research and development, as well as pharmaceuticals development. -

Materials Studio Collection for Pipeline Pilot: Support research in polymers, catalysis, CPG, electronics and other market sectors using the Materials Studio Collection for Pipeline Pilot which combines the powerful modeling tools of Materials Studio with the automation and reporting tools of Pipeline Pilot.

Discovery Studio: A software suite of life science molecular design solutions for computational chemists and computational biologists. Discovery Studio makes it easier to examine the properties of large and small molecules, study systems, identify leads and optimize candidates.

NEW! Accelrys iLabber electronic lab notebook (ELN): Available as both an on-premise and a multi-tenant, SaaS-based notebook solution, the iLabber ELN is an ideal option for academic institutions. iLabber ELN improves information sharing and re-use, data protection, process documentation, collaboration and productivity while also providing rapid, easy deployment and low cost of ownership.

All who stop by the booth will be entered for a chance to win an iPad2.

Hear from Dr. Keith Taylor, Advisory Product Manager, Chemistry at Accelrys as he presents two talks in the CINFlash Symposium, Wednesday, August 31st at 1:30 pm in Room 112 of the Colorado Convention Center.

Title: Interactive Prediction of Biological Activity

Abstract:
The use of structure keys derived from a database such as the MDDR (Thomson-Reuters) that correlates structure with biological activity is a common workflow. Traditionally fingerprints are used to derive a an activity model and prospective structures are submitted to the model to obtain activity predictions.

This approach is cumbersome and not as appealing as an interactive workflow. In this presentation we will demonstrate a web application that uses a pre-built model. A prospective structure is sketched and its activity predicted in real time. The user can edit the structure and see how the modification affects the activity prediction.

Title: Moving Chemistry Paper notebooks to the Cloud

Abstract: The chemistry community was one of the first to adopt the ELN (electronic lab notebook). Today the largest community of ELN users are chemists that have moved from paper based notebooks to an electronic system that enables rapid documentation, sharing and re-use or experimental  information. For the remaining chemists yet to go paperless a significant barrier to moving to an ELN is the infrastructure and resources required to own and deploy an ELN. This presentation will introduce a new cloud based ELN, free for personal use, that scientists can access immediately with just an internet connection and a computer.
