The 2009 Accelrys European User Group Meeting will be held at La Mola Hotel & Conference Centre near Barcelona.
User Group Meeting, October 14th-16th
The UGM will be held October 14th-16th, Wednesday afternoon to Friday afternoon. The meeting will give attendees the opportunity to see innovative ways their colleagues are applying Accelrys solutions to solve real world problems. The aim of the meeting is to help users become more successful with Accelrys products by creating a collaborative environment for attendees to exchange ideas and learn new applications & techniques.
Two new tracks will be added to this year's event, which include life science/materials science modeling and simulation.
The Accelrys European User Group meeting provides you with the opportunity to learn from your peers and Accelrys about the science, technology and application of your Accelrys products and solutions. The User Group meeting will feature customer, software partner and Accelrys presentations covering all aspects of the products.
The major themes of the meeting will be:
Chemistry, Biology, IT, Reporting, Sharepoint and Web Applications
- Cheminformatics: Cheminformatics applications, chemistry databases, screening data analysis and manipulation
- Biosciences: Imaging, High Content Screening, Biomarkers, Translational Research, Proteomics, Bioinformatics, and Text Mining.
- Reporting, SharePoint integration and web application development
- Pipeline Pilot platform
Life Science Modeling and Simulation
- Methods and solutions for lead discovery and optimization, structure and fragment-based design, transmembrane protein analysis, and antibody modeling
- Applications and case studies in computational drug discovery: bridging modern methods with validated science
- Discovery Studio in a collaborative environment: developing novel custom solutions for medicinal chemists and biologists
Materials Modeling and Simulation
- Applications in Nanotechnology, Catalysis, Electronics, Energy, Adhesives, Polymers, Medical materials, Drug delivery, Crystallisation
- Modeling of reactions, interfaces, polymers, networked systems, electro-optical phenomena, and analytical instruments
- Software advances in complex model building, high-throughput methods and parallel scaling
On Thursday 15/10 Accelrys will also host our software vendor partners, with a rapid fire round of presentations highlighting their integration with Pipeline Pilot, and an all day exhibition. As well as the talks and exhibition there will be ample opportunities to meet and share your knowledge with your colleagues in other companies at the social activities.
Key to the success of the meeting is the ability to learn from other companies about their best practices in implementation and use of Accelrys software. Please consider submitting a talk on any of the themes described above. For further information, see the ‘Call for Papers’.

Optional Training Sessions, 12th-14th October, 2009
The User Group Meeting Kicks off with optional training sessions being held on Monday October 12th through Wednesday midday October 14th 2009. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on training in the latest releases of Pipeline Pilot, Discovery Studio and Materials Studio. The Class sizes are limited so be sure to register early to secure your spot.

Pricing
Early Registration Pricing - EUGM*
- Register before Friday September 18th to take advantage of the reduced early registration rate of €550; this registration fee includes access to three full days of the plenary sessions, breakout groups and networking/social events and vendor exhibition.
- The registration rate after September 18th is €725.
Training Pricing*
- The cost of a single training session is €300 per half day.
- For those registering for 5 courses will receive a discount of €300.
*Any registrant cancellation will be subject to an administration charge of €10. Any cancellation after September 28th will be subject to a €100 charge.

Which airport should I fly to?
We advise you to fly to Barcelona’s main airport as the other airports (Reus and Girona ) are approximately 1.5 hours away from the venue.
Transfers:
We have arranged for a local company to take care of your transfers at no additional charge. The transfers will collect from Barcelona El Prat airport and the main train station.

Return Transfers
There will be 2 coaches departing from La Mola Hotel & Conference Centre on Friday 16th October at 13:15 and 14:45. An earlier coach will be provided if there is a high demand otherwise taxis can be booked on your behalf.
