Biologicals Registration Special Interest Group

Accelrys teamed up with leading pharmaceutical companies, including Merck, Abbott, and Lilly, in an award-winning collaborative effort that tackled the challenges posed by the dynamic nature of biological entities.

Members guided the creation of a commercial biological registration solution that is built upon Accelrys’ award-winning List Management and Query Services (LMQS) system and utilizes an extensible SOA architecture and knowledge model.  The browser-based system is the industry's first multi-entity, fully-integrated system for registering, relationship-tracking, querying, and reporting on complex biological entities. Members of the SIG remain involved with the system's future developments by partaking in a scientific advisory board.

The initiative received the fifth annual Best Practice Award for Knowledge Management from Bio-IT World magazine.
