Accelrys Nanotechnology Consortium Delivers New Multi-scale Computer Aided Nanodesign Software Tools and Adds New Members
July 9, 2007 - Accelrys, Inc. (NASDAQ:ACCL) a leader in Computer Aided Nanodesign(TM) (CAN), announced the release of QMERA, the latest software solution developed by the Accelrys Nanotechnology Consortium. QMERA is a multi-scale method that enables users to include quantum mechanical and molecular mechanic methods (QMMM) simultaneously through a hybrid simulation approach. QMERA will be commercially available to members of the Nanotechnology Consortium as part of Materials Studio 4.2, expected to be released in July 2007.

(NASDAQ:ACCL), a leader in computer-aided nanodesign (CAN), today announced the addition of seven new members to the Accelrys Nanotechnology Consortium, as well as the introduction of ONETEP, the first consortium-developed software application. The Consortium brings together leaders from industry, government and academia in order to create software tools that speed up the design of nanomaterials and nanodevices. The new members include: Kyoto University, Millennium Chemicals (A Lyondell Company), R.J. Mears, CSIC of Spain and PPG Industries.

Accelrys Launches Nanotechnology Consortium to Spur Nanotechnology Innovation
Nov. 23, 2004 - Enabling companies to bring nano-products to market more quickly and with reduced risk, Accelrys, Inc., a leader in computer-aided nanodesign (CAN), today announced the launch of the Accelrys Nanotechnology Consortium. The goal of the Nanotech Consortium is to accelerate the development of software tools that enable the design of nanomaterials and nanodevices.
