Data integration
Pipeline Pilot is a central data management platform that allows scientists to seamlessly access and manage complex scientific data scattered across the R&D organization as well as external sources. Data from different locations, heterogeneous sources and disparate applications can be integrated to increase your research productivity. Pipeline Pilot can be used to integrate tools directly with your databases used to store substance information; be it toxicology data, chemical properties, data relevant to REACH Consortia, or public databases such a DSSTox. For example, Pipeline Pilot has been used by the European Commission’s Institute for Health and Consumer Protection to generate and validate substance identification data for substances listed on the EU list of existing substances (EINECS) and substance properties of concern.
Application integration
Depending on the task in hand, as a toxicologist you require a range of tools to access and process data. These tools may come from different vendors, or are available as open source applications. What makes cumbersome, is that for each one you need to operate in a different environment, and the generation of coherent reports becomes especially cumbersome. The ECT Sample Application offers the possibility to integrate different applications into one common environment. Examples are the integration of third-partypredictive toxicity tools alongside Accelrys’ TOPKAT.
Reporting
The ECT solution provides users with easily customizable, interactive reports with drill-down capabilities to generate reports for the different levels of management, and allows you to see different views of your data.
For example, toxicity information can be reported in summary form, across a range of substances highlighting those of concern, or it can be configured to provide detailed chemistry information highlighting fragment contributions to the chosen endpoint.
Configuration
With the ECT solution it is easy to capture and share best practices to improve research productivity. You can easily construct workflows by graphically combining functionalities. The installation can be customized from the back-end (where data comes from and what is done with that data) and it can be customized from the front-end (the look and feel of the application).
