PDB Files and Protein Displays

This session will describe the ease with which PDB files may be read into Discovery Studio and prepared for further work. Also, display styles and capabilities will be presented including a determination of electrostatic surfaces.

Molecular Mechanics

This session is a quick overview of molecular mechanic techniques in Discovery Studio. Force field atom typing, specification of restraints, energy minimization, and molecular dynamics will be demonstrated followed by basic methods for analyzing the resulting trajectory. The session culminates with the construction of a periodic solvated system.

This session is quick overview of homology modeling techniques in Discovery Studio, including demonstrations of the sequence windows, protocols associated with aligning sequences based on their structure, and building models with Modeler, followed by basic methods for analyzing results and corresponding models.
