System Requirements for SciTegic Pipeline Pilot 6.1 (July 2007)

Operating System Requirements

Pipeline Pilot 6.1 is supported on Linux and Windows.

Supported Linux Operating Systems

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 WS or ES update 5 or later, 32-bit x86
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 WS or ES (any update), 32-bit x86 (this 32-bit Red Hat configuration is also supported on 64-bit hardware)
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 WS or ES, 64-bit x86
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and Desktop version 10, 64-bit x86
  • Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or later or another Mozilla-supported browser

Note: On Linux servers, Root privileges may be required for optional configurations.

Supported Windows Server Operating Systems

  • Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4
  • Window Server 2003 with Service Pack 1
  • Internet Explorer 6.0 or later or Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or later
  • Optional: Office 2000, XP, or 2003 with Microsoft Excel and Word (required on server for protocols that use Reader and Writer components). ActiveState Python 2.1 or later (required on server for protocols that use Python scripting components).

Note: On Windows servers, System Administrator privileges are required.

Supported Windows Client Operating Systems

  • Windows 2000 and Service Pack 4
  • Windows XP
  • Windows Power User privileges (required on client machines as registry settings are updated during installation)
  • Internet Explorer 6.0 or later or Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or later

Minimum Hardware Requirements

Server Hardware

  • Pentium class computer running at 2 GHz or faster, 1–4 CPUs
  • 1–2 GB RAM
  • Disk space (installation): 2 GB
  • Disk space (runtime environment, user data files, etc.): 20 GB

Note: As a guide, one processor for every two or three simultaneous users should provide adequate performance.

Client Hardware

  • Pentium class computer (1 GHz or faster)
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 150 MB free disk space
