Combining Pipeline Pilot Dataflow with Interactive Visual Analytics in DecisionSite

Spotfire and Accelrys have tightly coupled DecisionSite's interactive visual analytics with Pipeline Pilot's data processing protocols. Researchers can now embed Pipeline Pilot computations in DecisionSite, create their own Guides, and deploy these throughout the enterprise. This is all done within DecisionSite and does not require any scripting or programming. Through these deployed Guides, DecisionSite users can run analyses in Pipeline Pilot without ever leaving the DecisionSite environment.

In the following example, protocol parameters are entered through a Spotfire Guide. Protocol results are passed back to DecisionSite for visual inspection.

Alternatively, Pipeline Pilot users can benefit from DecisionSite's visualization capabilities by viewing protocol results in the Spotfire Viewer. Another component, the Spotfire Filter, allows users to view intermediate protocol results in Spotfire, manipulate it (select a subset of the data, for example), and then continue processing the resulting data in Pipeline Pilot.

The Pipeline Pilot Connector can be obtained from Spotfire. Spotfire Viewer components are shipped with all recent versions of Pipeline Pilot. The Spotfire Filter component can be downloaded from the SciTegic user community area.
